The main goal of Blue Line Stables is dedicated to providing a home for retired police horses who have served the communities during their working lives.
Blue Line Stables is funded through donations from individuals, corporations, and grants from foundations. Your donations to our 501 (C) (3) corporation are tax deductible.
Blue Line Stables has a relationship with Nassau County Police Department which is located just east of New York City on Long Island. To be certain they will be properly cared for when their service is over, we agreed to take their retired horses and provide a well appointed place for these great servants to be taken care of and spend the rest of their lives.
Blue Line Stables Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is solely focused on the good and well-being of retired police horses. Here at Blue Line Stables it is a police officer looking after and loving retired four legged police officers. We wanted to give retired police horses a loving home to relax and enjoy their retirement after years of service to their community.
In 2015 our first retiree came to the farm. We currently have 3 retirees.
Some of these horses have existing medical issues that have to be managed and all develop them as they grow older. These officers get the very best care which includes
supplements, farrier services, regular check ups and of course emergency care when needed. No expense is too much for these magnificent animals.
Susan Ralph is the President of Blue Line Stables, a current police Lieutenant with a
local police department. Susan got bit by the horse bug at five years old. A school trip
to a local farm, she was hooked. Her love of horses prompted her to continue to learn
to ride and work with the horses. At thirteen, her parents purchased her first horse, a
four year old Quarter Horse, King Cody Go, aka Cody. Cody remained by Susan’s side
for thirty years. After he passed Susan was contacted to possibly adopt a retiring
police horse. It didn't take long thinking about it that she began the process to adopt.
Her first retiree Cimmeron, was a twenty eight year old Quarter Horse who had served many years on the police force. She knew time with this new horse could be short. It didn’t matter, Cimmeron, aka Cimmy was coming to retirement. Well now, nine years later, Cimmy is still part of the herd.
Her motto: If love could keep these horses alive, they would all live forever.
